Channukah, A Poem

There once was a girl,
Who loved decorating.
She loved making things pretty,
Although the job was painstaking.

She wanted her home,
To feel warm and nice,
So that when family was over,
They could roll the dreidel twice.
(or more times. Whatevs.)

So the girl brought out the candles and menorah,
and hung up window stickers, too.
She brought out a bowl of gelt,
And splendored at the peaceful view.

For the girl saw a pretty pink menorah castle,
That belongs to her first born child.
She saw a glass menorah,
and knew things could get... wild?

She saw candles waiting for a prayer,
So they may give lots of light.
As we remember the oil burned,
For eight long nights.

An extra menorah will be lit,
And stay on through the night,
A peaceful, calming happy feeling,
Seeing such a sight.

The latkes and other food treats,
Will be made with excitement and glee.
All the Channukah Harry's and their families,
Will want more in their tummies.

And since Channukah's about giving,
And this girl loves to make people smile.
She bought everyone in her family presents,
That should last quite a while.
